Food Is My Medicine, is the theme of this blog and it is now 14 days in, since my 90-day Radical Self-care Healing Journey began. By completing my radical self-care journal to identify What my intention is? My why? And What I will need? I feel more clued up and prepared for the changes that I am about to implement into my lifestyle.

Goody (Body) Detox and Fasting

Why Detox

Our bodies has its own natural in-built detoxification system. Our liver, kidneys, and lungs are constantly working to remove toxins and waste products. However, due to many reasons such as excess toxins within our goody (bodies,) our detoxification systems can become overwhelmed and in need of support. By using food is my medicine method and other healing techniques, it is my intention to return balance and harmony within my goody (body).

Why Fasting

There are so many different types of fasting techniques such as:

  • Juice and Vegetables Fasting
  • Water Fasting
  • Intermittent Fasting
  • 24-hour Fasting
  • Alternate Day Fasting

Just as there are many different types of fasting, there are many reasons why people would commit to a fasting lifestyle:

  • Improved Gut Health: Fasting may allow your gut to rest and improve the balance of gut bacteria.
  • Increased Energy Levels: Some people find they have more energy after adapting to a fasting routine.
  • Address Health Issues: Some people have found relief from arthritis through fasting.
  • Spiritual Benefits: Fasting is a practice in many religions and cultures, seen as a way to connect with something greater than oneself.
  • Food Is My Medicine: Eating to live is the key here, not living to eat.

Potential Benefits Of A Fasting Lifestyle

  • Weight Loss:  Fasting can be a tool for weight loss by restricting calorie intake. During a fasting window, your body burns stored energy for fuel, which can lead to weight reduction.
  • Improved Blood Sugar Control: Studies suggest fasting may improve insulin sensitivity and blood sugar management, potentially benefiting those with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes.
  • Cellular Repair and Longevity:  Research suggests fasting may trigger cellular repair mechanisms and promote the growth of new cells, potentially contributing to longevity and a reduced risk of chronic diseases.
  • Reduced Inflammation:  Fasting may help reduce inflammation in the body, which is linked to various health problems like heart disease and arthritis.
  • Improved Mental Clarity:  Some people report experiencing increased focus, concentration, and mental clarity during fasting periods.

My 30-Day Detoxing Program

My detox plan is to address releasing excess toxins, reducing inflammation, restoring healthy gut microbiome and cleansing my blood. My Food Is My Medicine Method will allow me to slowly and naturally address some of my health concerns.

Week One: Preparing To Detox

  • I will create My Food Is My Medicine weekly menu
  • I will begin to reduce my food intake to prepare my body mind for the detoxing. It is all about easing myself into the process slowly
  • Right from the beginning I will eliminate all processed foods, sugary drinks, and unhealthy fats from my diet. These types of foods can disrupt my blood sugar levels and make me feel hungrier during the fast
  • 3 Days before my detox/fast I will focus on consuming only nutrient rich foods, whole grains, lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables that will provide the essential minerals and vitamins I need to support my body at the beginning of the detox/fast process  
  • I will keep my body hydrated by consuming high frequency waters, such as, pure coconut water, freshly pulped. I will also have pure spring water where possible
  • Each day I will practice Goody Moves – Moving Meditation including stretches to open lymphatic systems flushing capabilities and enhance circulation
  • Every day I spend outside therapy time
  • Inner Child Healing
  • Shadow Self Integration
  • Morning Ritual With Lime Tea Ceremony

Week Two Release Toxins From Blood Stream and Detox Colon

  • Begin Colon Detoxification and Blood Cleanse
  • Consume only fruits, vegetables and high frequency waters
  • Sunlight Nourishment
  • Healthy Goody Meditation
  • Cold Shower Therapy
  • Goody Moves – Moving Meditation

Week Three Invigorate Circulation and Bio Field Cleanse

  • Continue colon detoxification and Blood Cleanse
  • Consume only fruits, vegetables and high frequency waters
  • Sunlight Nourishment
  • Healthy Goody Meditation and Bio-field Auric Cleansing
  • Cold Shower Therapy
  • Goody Moves – Moving Meditation

Week Four Stepping into Intermittent Fasting Rosie’s Style

  • Gradually release detox and cleansing process and step into nutrient rich intermittent fasting
  • Consume only fruits, vegetables and high frequency waters
  • Sunlight Nourishment
  • Healthy Goody Meditation and Bio-field Auric Cleansing
  • Cold Shower Therapy
  • Goody Moves – Moving Meditation
  • Begin the steps of moving into a healthier environment (Tropical Climate)

This will not be a linear regime or a journey of deprivation. The information above is a useful guide that will enable me to maintain motivation and a sense of direction.
